Success in rugby and hockey

Autumn 2018 has seen an action packed term of sports with 51 different matches and festivals being played.
We have had ISA Rugby and Hockey competitions with the boys securing runners up and the girls progressing into the cup competition from 32 teams.

We have enjoyed lots of House Competitions; Stampede (cross country) for Upper School, Splashdown (swimming) for Year 5, and we finish the term with our Rugby and Hockey House matches. I do love to see all of the children in their House colours being active with smiles on their faces!

Spring sees us moving to boys Hockey and girls Netball, with the Summer term moving to Cricket for girls and boys for the first time. We are excited about this transition and really feel that the volume of coverage women’s cricket is currently receiving will inspire the girls while offering role models and opportunities to pursue outside of school.

We have made the switch along with a high percentage of our regular competition, so we are confident we are moving with the times and look forward to what Cricket can offer for our girls and boys alike.

As I go on maternity leave, I confidentially hand the department over to Mr T Smith and look forward to coming back for Sports Day, Stampede and other events throughout the year.
