COPTHILL SCHOOL - SPRING 2023 NEWSLETTER
Principal's welcome
Watch this (beautiful) space
With spring in the air, and a busy Summer Term fully planned, my thoughts are now focussed on autumn!
New pupils, new staff, new roles, new initiatives and hopefully new facilities. We are currently planning a new netball/tennis court below the existing ones (which will also be refurbished). This is all subject to planning authorities, which can be challenging, given our beautiful green spaces! So watch this space, quite literally…
This term I have been extremely busy meeting new parents and it is always a great privilege to have the opportunity to show them around. Without fail, they see wonderful teaching and articulate, confident children, always happy to enthusiastically explain what they are learning about!
The remark I often hear from new parents is: “I wish I could have had a school like this!”
This compliment remains a strong motivation for our commitment to continual improvement of every aspect of school life for the children and all our stakeholders.
The SMT have spent time reviewing the current curriculum content and the timetable, with some positive changes now being planned for September, and we look forward to sharing that with you in due course.
When autumn arrives our current Year 6 will be starting new adventures at their chosen secondary schools. We are extremely proud of their achievements so far this year. The wide range of schools they have had to choose from is a direct reflection of their talents and the excellent preparation they have received from their teachers. My congratulations to all the children.
This newsletter once again reflects a very busy term and all the fantastic opportunities the staff provide for the children each day. My thanks as always to them for their dedication and energy, and I wish them and you all a very happy Easter holiday.
