COPTHILL SCHOOL - SPRING 2021 NEWSLETTER

Principal's welcome

A massive thank-you to all of you, from all of us

We come to the end of a very strange term, where much of it has been spent working from home. The staff and I would like to pass on our sincere thanks for the support and cooperation from you all as you have successfully managed to navigate through this difficult term, balancing your professional and family roles with that of teaching assistant too. It has been wonderful to see all the children back in school these last four weeks as we have all safely readjusted to school life again. We have been busy planning timetables and calendar events for next term, and indeed next year, as we look ahead cautiously but optimistically to the future. At the end of term, we will be saying a sad but fond farewell to a number of loyal staff. Sue Halsall has been a crucial part of the Brookwoods’ team since we introduced catering to Copthill in 2004. She served her last meal here today and we wish her the very best on her well-deserved retirement. Lainy Wilson is also retiring having done an excellent job leading the cleaning team since 2017. We wish her a very happy and restful retirement. Lorraine Hunter will also be leaving her learning support role at the end of term and moving to Oundle School. We wish her the very best for the future too. We are delighted that Elly Bressington will be taking over the role of Housekeeper, working in school throughout the day. We all continue to wish Mrs Flynn, our School Administrator, a speedy recovery and we pass on all your good wishes. We look forward to seeing everyone safely back for a busy summer term and wish you all an enjoyable and well-deserved Easter break.
